Sara Adlerstein-Gonzalez
Member Artist
WSG is excited to welcome our newest member-owner, Sara Adlerstein Gonzalez. Sara is a professor in the School of Natural Resources who has made it her mission during her tenure at U of M to help students make the link between science and the arts. Her background as a biologist studying sustainable fishing practices paired with her background as a painter make her particularly well-suited for such a mission. When the Dana Building (SNRE Building) was re-imagined, not only was it designed to be a ‘green’ building, with a host of new efficiencies, it was designed with a common space that had huge locking showcases for the purpose of exhibiting art with a natural resource theme. Sara was a very influential force in making the exhibit space a reality.
Sara’s abstract paintings, looking at our world from micro to macro images and themes are a wonderful addition to WSG gallery’s walls. You may find one that would be a wonderful addition to your living or workspace, as well!
