Book + Paper Art show at WSG

Ann Arbor Art Fair 2013

This is the week that Ann  Arbor celebrates the Ann Arbor Art Fairs, a group of 4 separate art fairs that feel like 1 GIANT art party.  It has been said that, sometimes, 400,000 people visit Ann Arbor over the 4-day period!

It’s a great time to visit WSG gallery and escape the heat in our air-conditioning, enjoy the calm and, especially, see what we’ve come to refer to as ‘the book show’.  Each time it is Barbara Brown’s turn to have a show here, she curates a book and paper art show that’s not to be missed.  This only happens about every year and a half.  Our website gives information about each artist and a brief statement when you click on the images of their work.  Here’s a preview of the work:

This image is of the book and video installation collaboration by Barbara Brown, Howard White and Ellie White.  The piece is mesmerizing!  The shadows change throughout the day, but the video projection affects those shadows, as well.  The video gives the feeling of letters raining from the sky.  I could look at it all day!

Work in the show by the other 4 artists follows.  Check our website for additional information: http://www.wsg-art-archive.com
