December 2013
Visiting Artists @ WSG
December 3, 2013 – January 4, 2014
WSG gallery has a robust Visiting Artist roster, including artists who have work in collections around the world – public, corporate and private collections.
Marlee Hoffman is a Michigan artist, working in watercolor with saturated colors and paying special attention to light and its play on the surfaces of her subject matter.
Nora Venturelli is a Michigan artist, as well. Hailing from Argentina, studying in California and Michigan, she now passes her vast expertise on to students (lucky!) at University of Michigan.
Martha Keller is shown here at her retrospective a couple of years ago. She is no longer with us, as of this year, but her work is timeless and we are lucky enough to show it at WSG, still, a gallery that she helped start some 15 years ago.

Maria Ruggiero‘s colorful landscapes are always favorites at the gallery. Maria is a painting professor at Eastern Michigan University. Her students often come in to the gallery and ooh and aah over her work!
Jean Lau is also a founding member of WSG gallery. She has a long history in Michigan and a solid background in printmaking, painting and pastel work. We’re lucky enough to have her back as a visiting artist after many years helping run the gallery.
You can find Barbara Yerace‘ glass work at WSG – bead work, hot work and blown glass pieces – sometimes a combination of techniques in one piece.

Janet Kelman‘s kiln cast glass work has been a wonderful addition to an already very exciting array of art! This is a smaller piece, but she has larger horizontal, as well as wall-hung glass forms.

Jaye Schlesinger is a new Visiting Artist with WSG , though we’ve known about her outstanding work for a long time. We’re pleased to have pieces from 2 of her series in the gallery right now – Food and Boxes.

Chrisa Craig will be a new Visiting Artist in December. We were pleased she submitted her strong, abstract paintings to WSG. We’re looking forward to bringing her on!
